While the scientific research and healthcare industries are expected to be the strongest growth areas, with AR/VR spending in both industries expected to climb over 150% annually, no industry will be left untouched.
Will you be ready for AR and VR versions of practically everything—along with its ample marketing opportunities?
The Howard Section of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) was chartered in 2001 on Howard University’s renowned hilltop in Washington, DC. The legacy of the National Council of Negro Women merged with Howard University’s illustrious legacy could only produce a truly impactful organization. Remaining true to its legacy, since this organization’s inception on Howard’s campus, it has been one of the biggest and most influential women-led organizations on campus. Currently, Howard Section has over two hundred and fifty members and with this, we maintain the status of one of the largest collegiate section of NCNW nationwide.
This year as we celebrate our 16th anniversary on Howard’s Campus we present the 2018 Height of Black Womanhood Conference entitled “Uplift The Vision”. This conference will provide an opportunity for Howard and the surrounding community to come together and celebrate the beauty and spirit of the African-American women. The conference begins with the Gala of Visionary Excellence on March 23, 2018 at 7pm. During the gala we will see talent from the Howard Community to include dance ensembles, spoken word, and visual art. Following the performances we would have a keynote speaker to share with members how they can “Uplift the Vision” in their everyday lives. The mission of our organization is to lead, develop, and advocate for women of African descent as they support their families and communities.
Mary McLeod Bethune envisioned not another organization but an "organization of organizations" that would represent the national and international concerns of black women. It would also give African American women the opportunity to realize their goals for social justice and human rights through united, constructive action. After the Gala on Saturday will be our “Your Vision Reimagined” Workshop Series and then Sunday our Dorothy Heights Recognition Brunch to award our annual scholarship to a high school student in DC and recognize new members.
